Choral Legacies Workshop

17th March 2007

The choir would like to thank everyone who participated in the workshop and made it such a fun day. It was lovely to see representatives from so many other local choirs.

In the morning we learned some of the ‘Sprig of Thyme’ collection by John Rutter, beautiful arrangements of British folksongs. As it was St. Patrick’s Day, special attention was paid to two Irish songs in the collection. After a picnic lunch outside, (it was a gloriously sunny day), we had a complete change of style with a selection of African songs. When the chairs were taken away, everyone really got into the spirit of the music.

The whole occasion was complemented by a good supply of tea and coffee, and a fine collection of cakes donated by members and friends of the choir!
